Tuna Casserole outside of the basics can be filled with any fresh veggies of your choice as in Broccoli, corn or even shredded carrots. Get creative and enjoy.

Recipe Ingredients for Revised Tuna Casserole

12 oz Whole wheat pasta
12 oz light tuna
8 oz Sweet peas , drained
1 1/3 cups skim milk
10 3/4 oz cream of mushroom soup
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
35 g cup saltine crackers , crushed
3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

Recipe Directions for Revised Tuna Casserole

  1. Pre-heat over to 350 degrees

  2. In a large bowl, combine cooked noodles, drained tuna and peas

  3. In another bowl combine soup, milk, salt and pepper. Pour over the noodle mixture and combine together until blended

  4. Add entire mixture in a 9 x 9 baking dish, greased.

  5. Mix together the crushed saltines and melted butter and spread over noodles, this will make a nice crust on top during baking. You may also substitue the saltines for low fat bread crumbs if you would like.

  6. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until heated through.
