Just pancakes! Add fruit or nuts (or chocolate chips for a special treat) to spice things up.

Recipe Ingredients for Regular Pancakes

3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 tablespoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 large egg, at room temperature
2/3 cup milk, at room temperature
1 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Recipe Directions for Regular Pancakes

  1. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl and mix thoroughly.

  2. In another bowl, beat the egg completely then whisk in the milk. (If desired, add 1/2 tsp vanilla extract at this point (not included in recipe).)

  3. Melt the butter on the pan or griddle over medium heat, then pour into the wet ingredients.

  4. Mix the wet ingredients into the flour mixture and mix until a thick batter is formed- don't over mix it!

  5. Season with nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, or any other spices if desired (not included in recipe).

  6. Use about 1/4 cup batter per pancake.
