Absolutely fantastic recipe. Add 1/4 cup of mayo to the cake park and it will make it extremely moist. My family cant get enough of this.

Recipe Ingredients for Red Velvet cake with cream cheese icing

2 tsp vanilla
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 cup cake flour
1 pound butter
2 ounces red food coloring
2 tablespoons cocoa
2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vinegar
16 ounces cream cheese
1 pound butter
4 cups powdered sugar

Recipe Directions for Red Velvet cake with cream cheese icing

  1. mix the first 11 ingredients plus 1/4 cup of mayo. And divide vanilla amount and butter amount in half and add second half to the last ingredients to make your frosting.

  2. Cook on 350 for 25 minuets. chk at 18 minuets for doneness n center and take out when cook all the way through.
