Great flavor- very light. Very close to store bought- would add a little more hummus and have to add a little additional olive oil or water to get the right consistency and so it blends well. might try food processor instead if available. eat on fresh veggies, pita chips, pretzels, or on low-fat whole grain bread with lettuce and tomato as sandwich.

Recipe Ingredients for Red Pepper Hummus

20 oz chickpeas
1 red bell pepper
1 1/2 tablespoon tahini
1 1/2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
1 1/2 tsp cumin
1 clove of garlic, crushed
1/2 tsp salt
4 tablespoon water

Recipe Directions for Red Pepper Hummus

  1. Wash and dry red bell pepper. Chop into inch pieces.

  2. In a blender or food processor, blend the chickpeas. Add red bell pepper, olive oil, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, water, and salt until the ingredients form a creamy, paste-like consistency. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
