Recipe Ingredients for red lentils with tomatoes and basil

1 lb red lentil
3 large tomatoes, diced
1 large onion, chopped
4 cups water
1/4 cup fresh basil, finely chopped
1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp olive oil

Recipe Directions for red lentils with tomatoes and basil

saute onion in olive oil until limp. add tomatoes, lentils, water, basil and parsley. Bring to a mild boil, and then simmer for approximately 20-30 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.
