Recipe Ingredients for Red Lentils and Rice

2 cups brown basmati rice
1 cup red lentils
3 red onions, sliced
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp allspice
4 cups of water

Recipe Directions for Red Lentils and Rice

  1. slice onions into rings and put in large deep baking sheet. bake at 400 degrees for at least 20 minutes until golden brown.

  2. Boil water and then add rice and spice and simmer for 20 minutes. Then add lentils and bring back to a boil. Then reduce to simmer for another 30 minutes.

  3. Add onions to rice and fluff.
