2 cup Lentils, Mature Seeds
6 cup (8 fl oz) Water
5 small Onions
6 tsp Ginger Root
6 clove Garlic
2 1tsp Olive Oil
24 tsp Ethnic Seasoning Berbere
1 1/2 cup Tomato Puree
1 tbsp Salt, Table

Recipe Directions for Red Lentil Stew with Berbere

  1. caramelize the onion

  2. puree the caramelized onion

  3. sautee the garlic and ginger

  4. put onion, garlic and ginger in a large pot, mix in the berbere spice, cook 2-3 minutes

  5. add tomato puree, water, and red lentils

  6. bring to a boil, then simmer until thickened
