4 cup Beans, Kidney, All Types, Mature Seeds
4 serving Tomato Paste No Salt Added
2 serving Chicken Bouillon Cubes

Recipe Directions for Red Beans small - Home made

  1. Soak beans in cold water the day before cooking.

  2. Discard the water the next day and rinse the beans with cold water on a strainer.

  3. Add to a pressure cooker and cover the beans with double the water (water should come up to 2/4 of the pot, no more)

  4. Pressure cook for one hour on medium high heat.

  5. Remove from heat and let all steam out before opening. Touch one bean and see if it splits easily. If it is still hard, cover again and pressure cook for 20 more minutes. Once beans are soft, remove from heat.

  6. Discard any excess water if you want a creamier bean soup.

  7. Add tomato paste and chicken bouillon.

  8. Stir and cook uncovered over medium heat for about 20 more minutes.

  9. Remove from heat and serve (1/2 cup per serving)
