Pinto beans cooked southern style

Recipe Ingredients for Red Beans

2 cups dried pinto beans, washed
2 quarts of water
2 t salt
1/2 t black pepper
3 strips bacon, Jimmy Dean thick sliced bacon

Recipe Directions for Red Beans

  1. Sort and wash dried pinto beans.

  2. Add to water and bring to a boil. Allow to boil 3 minutes.

  3. Place beans and water in crock pot. Add seasonings and bacon; and cook on low 6-8 hours.
