A savory red bean soup with just a touch of spicyness and smoky flavor. This is a modified recipe that was adopted from a recipe found in the Taste of Home magazine.

Recipe Ingredients for Red Bean Soup

1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 stalk celery, chopped
1/2 carrot, chopped
1 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup chicken broth, low sodium
1/2 can Beans, Kidney, Red, Mature Seeds
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 dash tabasco sauce

Recipe Directions for Red Bean Soup

  1. In a medium pot, saute the onlion, garlic, celery, and carrot until tender.

  2. Add remaining ingredients and bring soup to a simmer.

  3. Let simmer until heated through.

  4. You can eat the soup right away or let it simmer and mingle together for more body.
