I created this to help boost my protein intake. Makes about 4 (1 1/2 cup) servings

Recipe Ingredients for Real Pork and Beans

15 oz Pork, Fresh, Loin, Top Loin (Roasts), Boneless
2 cup Beans, Kidney, Red, Mature Seeds
1 tbsp Chili Powder
1/4 tsp Fajita Seasoning
1 tbsp Garlic Powder

Recipe Directions for Real Pork and Beans

  1. Cook beans and pork in slow cooker until both are tender. Time depends on temperature used.

  2. Pull out pork and break into small pieces. Return to pot.

  3. Stir in seasonings and simmer on low about an hour to let flavors blend.

  4. Serve in bowls or over brown rice.

  5. Note: Select the leanest roast you can. Trim off any excess fat.
