An Indian twist on Shepherd's Pie.

Recipe Ingredients for Raven & Rayne's Guru Pie


For the filling:
1 tsp olive oil
30 g red chilis
100 g carrots
150 g tomato
200 g onion
30 g jalapeno
2 tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp mustard seed
1/4 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp ginger paste
2 tsp red chili paste
300 g chicken broth
500 g ground meat

For the Potatoes:
600 g potato
2 tbsp margarine
1 tsp red chili paste
1 tsp garlic paste
1/4 tsp salt

Top with:
2 1/2 oz cheddar cheese

Recipe Directions for Raven & Rayne's Guru Pie

  1. Dice the vegetables and the tomato into 1 cm cubes.

  2. Heat oil.

  3. Saute vegetables in oil until tender.

  4. Stir in pastes.

  5. Add chicken broth and spices.

  6. Simmer for about 5 minutes.

  7. Stir in ground beef and simmer for 20 minutes until thick.

  8. Put into casserole dish.

  9. To make the potatoes:

  10. Cook potatoes until soft.

  11. Combine with remaining ingredients and mash together.

  12. Put in casserole dish on top of the filling.

  13. Top with cheese.
