Recipe Ingredients for Raven & Rayne's Chicken Saagwali

250 grams boneless skinless chicken breast, cubed
14 1/2 oz canned tomato, diced
300 grams onion, diced
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
3 tablespoons yoghurt
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1 gram whole green cardamom pods, about 2 pods
3 tsp green chili paste
290 grams canned spinach
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 tsp kosher salt
1 cup water

Recipe Directions for Raven & Rayne's Chicken Saagwali

  1. Drain spinach thoroughly.

  2. Heat oil in cast iron dutch oven.

  3. Fry the cardamom pods in the oil briefly.

  4. Add the onions and sauté until golden brown.

  5. Add the ginger, garlic and green chili paste and sauté for about 2 minutes.

  6. Add the tomatoes and sauté until the oil begins to leave the edges of the pan.

  7. Mix in spices, yoghurt, water and chicken and simmer for about five minutes.

  8. Pour in the spinach and cook for another ten minutes or till the chicken is done.
