This is a great recipe to make for hearty healthy bread that will last you and fill you.

Recipe Ingredients for Raspberry Blueberry Whole Wheat Bran Bread

1 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 cup raspberries
1/2 cup blueberries
2 tbsp olive oil
5 cups whole wheat flour
2 1/2 cups bran
2 tbsp active yeast

Recipe Directions for Raspberry Blueberry Whole Wheat Bran Bread

  1. add water, salt, brown sugar, raspberries, blueberries, Source yogurt and olive oil together.

  2. For bread machine:

  3. add bran, flour then top with active yeast and let the bread machine do the work.

  4. By hand:

  5. Mix this well, about 2 minutes till well blended. Mix in yeast and bran (note: bran is very hungry for water).

  6. Stir in flour a cup at a time till all mixed together.

  7. beat well and let rise and punch down 20 minutes later.

  8. Final rise will take about 30 minutes.

  9. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until done.

  10. Note - bread is done baking when you tap on the top and hear it slightly hollow. This is a heavy rich bread and will be very moist inside, so don't be surprised if you cannot tell when it is complete.
