"Healthified raspberry bars" from Eat Better America website. Take the butter out early to soften.

Recipe Ingredients for Raspberry Bars

3/4 c whole wheat flour
3/4 c all-purpose flour
3/4 c granulated sugar
1/2 c unsalted butter
1 egg
3/4 c Raspberry fruit spread
1/4 c chopped walnut

Recipe Directions for Raspberry Bars

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 and line an 8x8 square pan with foil.

  2. Chop walnuts and set aside

  3. Combine first three ingredients and mix together.

  4. Add butter in slices and beat the egg before adding. Mix with an electric mixer on low. Product with be crumbly.

  5. Reserve 3/4c of mixture from previous step. Press remaining portion into the bottom of the square pan.

  6. Spread fruit spread not quite to the corners.

  7. Combine reserved flour mixture, chopped walnuts, and several dashes of cinnamon using butter knives. Sprinkle over the top.

  8. Bake 40-45 minutes. Let cool 1 hr before slicing.
