Mom's recipe, from Grandma Woodruff, I think. The date on Mom's recipe card is 11-16-54. Recipe makes 72 cookies (calorie count here is based on that) but you can make smaller or larger cookies, too.

Recipe Ingredients for Ranger Cookies

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 cups quick oatmeal
2 cups corn flakes
1 cup coconut
3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Recipe Directions for Ranger Cookies

  1. Combine butter and sugar first, then well-beaten eggs and vanilla.

  2. Combine flour, soda, baking powder and salt in med. bowl.

  3. Add flour mix to butter/sugar mix.

  4. Add other ingredients, combine by hand. I use walnuts.

  5. Bake at 350 for 10 min.
