Mom's recipe don't know if 48 is the correct count

Recipe Ingredients for raisin filled cookies

2 cups raisins, packed
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp baking soda
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups flour, all purpose
2 1/2 cups oatmeal
1 tsp vanilla

Recipe Directions for raisin filled cookies

  1. cook 2 cups of ground raisins with 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar over low heat

  2. Stir to keep from burning.

  3. When thick remove from heat and cool.

  4. Add chopped nuts as you like

  5. Prepare cookie batter, blend 1 cup butter and 1 cup brown sugar

  6. place 1 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/4 cup of hot water

  7. Add soda water to batter and mix well

  8. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well

  9. Add and mix in oatmeal and flour

  10. Roll dough 1/4 in thick and cut with cookie cutter (I prefer thinner)

  11. Put 1/2 teaspoon of raisins on bottom layers and cover with second layer.

  12. Press edges firmly together

  13. Bake in oven at 375 F

  14. Add more flour if needed, cover rolling pin with flour
