Quick and easy tomato sauce that is great for pasta, steamed veggies or to use as a base sauce for pizza.

Recipe Ingredients for Quick tomato sauce

28 oz can tomatoes, crushed
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbs olive oil
2 oz fresh basil, chopped
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper, fresh cracked
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1/4 cup water

Recipe Directions for Quick tomato sauce

Heat olive oil in sauce pan. Add onion and garlic and saute until translucent. Add canned tomatoes, salt, black pepper and red pepper. Place lid on pot and simmer 10 minutes. 5 minutes before serving add chopped fresh basil and any additional water depending on desired thickness.
