A super quick and spicy, tasty cake!

Recipe Ingredients for Quick Gingerbread

1 cup all-purpose flour (sift before measuring)
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground ginger
1 egg, lightly beaten
5 tbl dark brown sugar
1/2 cup molasses
1/2 cup 2% milk
1 tsp vinegar
1/4 cup melted butter

Recipe Directions for Quick Gingerbread

  1. Spray an 8" or 9" cake pan with cooking spray. Dust with flour and knock out excess.

  2. Combine milk and vinegar and set aside (or just use buttermilk).

  3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees,

  4. Sift together flour, spices, salt and baking soda in a medium bowl. In a slightly larger bowl, combine egg, sugar, molasses, curdled milk (or buttermilk), and melted butter. Add sifted dry ingredients to wet ingredients and beat until smooth.

  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for about 30 min or until cake springs back when touched and a tester inserted into the middle comes out clean. Cut into squares and serve.
