From Betty Crocker Cookbook - except I halved the amount of ham and added bacon and used whole wheat flour instead of white. Great taste! Went well with some salsa and avocado! Use a pre-made pie crust or crescent roll dough for the crust or bake without. Had to list the pie crust seperately.

Recipe Ingredients for Quiche

1 cup egg substitute (or 4 large eggs)
1 1/2 cup low-fat milk
1/2 cup green onion, diced
1/2 cup ham, cooked, diced
1 oz bacon, cooked, crumbled (about 4 slices)
1/4 tsp nutmeg (a 'dash' doesn't record here so use a small amount!)
1/2 cup cheese, shredded
1 tablespoon whole wheat flour

Recipe Directions for Quiche

  1. To make the crust, use a pre-made pie crust or crescent roll dough such as Pillsbury.

  2. Preheat oven to 450. Roll out dough into a 9-inch pie pan and crimp edges. Do not prick with fork. Useing two pieces of foil loosely cover dough.

  3. Bake at 450 for 8 minutes, then remove the foil and bake 5-7 more minutes or until crust is dry, but hardly brown.

  4. Lower oven temp to 350

  5. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, whisk egg, milk, onion, bacon, ham and nutmeg.

  6. In a seperate small bowl, toss cheese with flour to coat. Add to egg mixture. Mix well.

  7. Pour into hot pie crust making sure the meats and onion is evenly distributed.

  8. Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes, or until center is set and a toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.

  9. Serve with salsa, sour cream, avocado or extra cheese.
