This easy, elegant quiche makes a delicious brunch, lunch ordinner served with a fresh fruit salad. Quiche Lorraine can be prepared 2-4hours in advance of baking; chill until ready to bake.

Recipe Ingredients for Quiche Lorraine

12 oz bacon (6 slices chopped)
1/2 cup chopped onion chopped
4 oz Swiss Cheese (1/2 cup shredded )
12 ounce Evaporated milk
3 large eggs (well beaten)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 dash ground black pepper
1 dash ground nutmeg
2 small Carrot (grated)

Recipe Directions for Quiche Lorraine

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350F

  2. 2. Cook bacon in large skillet over medium heat. When bacon starts to turnbrown, add onion. Cook until bacon is crisp; drain. Sprinkle cheese into bottomof pie shell. Top with bacon mixture. Combine evaporated milk, eggs, salt, pepper and nutmeg in small bowl until blended. Pour into pie shell.

  3. 3. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between center and edgecomes out clean. In our oven it took 55 minutes. I did have it perpared and in the fridge for 5 hours before which probably increased the cooking time. Cool for 5 minutes on wire rack before serving.

  4. Notes: I added the small amount of carrots to the recipe and it added some a nice little bit of color Used less swiss cheese 6 oz. seem to be too much. I used Kerrygold swiss cheese from Ireland which work well.
