Modified slightly from the original (no butter, beef broth for water, less ketchup, less meat)

Recipe Ingredients for PW Sloppy Joes

32 ounces lean ground beef
1 c chopped onion
2 c chopped red pepper
5 cloves garlic
1 c ketchup
1 c low sodium beef broth
2 T chili powder
1 t dry mustard
1 T Worcestershire sauce

Recipe Directions for PW Sloppy Joes

  1. Brown the beef; drain off the fat.

  2. Add the onions, pepper, and garlic - cook until starting to get soft, about 5 minutes.

  3. Add the ketchup, broth, chili powder, and mustard. Stir to comine. Simmer for 15 minutes. Add Worcestershire sauce to taste; can also add tobasco sauce for a kick. Taste, add salt and pepper if necessary.
