Recipe Ingredients for Puttanesca sauce

2 T olive oil
2 oz anchovies, European
2 T capers
3 cloves garlic
4 T kalamata olives
420 gram tomatoes
5 leaves fresh basil, chopped

Recipe Directions for Puttanesca sauce

Mash anchovies. Heat oil in saute pan. Add anchovies and cook on med-high until dissolves. Add garlic. Stir and cook 1-2 minutes. Add capers and olives. Cook 1-2 minutes. Add tomatoes. Allow to come almost to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes. Add fresh basil. Cook 2-3 minutes longer. Serve with penne or spaghetti.
