Recipe Ingredients for Pumpkin Spice Bread

3 tbsp ground flaxseed
1/2 cup water
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup vegetable oil
14 oz pumpkin
3 cups flour
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Pumpkin Spice Bread

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Lightly oil two 8-in loaf pans.

  2. Whip the flaxseed and water together until thick and creamy using a hand mixer or food processor.

  3. In a large bowl, stir together the sugar, oil, pumpkin, and flaxseed mix.

  4. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Thoroughly combine the dry ingredients, then add them to the wet. Stir until just combined.

  5. Spoon the batter into the loaf pans. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. Let the breads cool for at least 20 minutes before removing from the loaf pans.
