Recipe Ingredients for Pumpkin Pie

1 cups Flour (all-purpose)
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 tablespoon Sugar
3 tablespoon Butter
3 tablespoons Crisco (shortening, also known as vegetable fat)
3 tablespoons Ice Water
15 oz pumpkin puree
14 oz condensed milk
2 eggs
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Pumpkin Pie

  1. In the mixing bowl stir together flour, salt, and sugar. After this use the pastry cutter to thoroughly chop in the butter and Crisco. Then use the pastry cutter to cut in the right amount of ice water.

  2. If your crust is too moist to be easily handled wrap it in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

  3. Flour your cutting board and the rolling pin. Then take the crust and roll it out. Take the rolled out piecrust and wrap it around the rolling pin, transfer it to the pie pan and cut off the excess.

  4. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Whisk pumpkin, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, spices and salt in medium bowl until smooth. Pour into crust. Bake 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees F and continue baking 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted 1 inch from crust comes out clean. Cool. Garnish as desired. Store leftovers covered in refrigerator.
