A fall favorite - makes two 8"x4" loaves.

Recipe Ingredients for Pumpkin Bread

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
72 tsp dark brown sugar (1.5 cups)
32 tsp granulated sugar (2/3 cup)
422 15-oz. can pumpkin puree
1 2/3 cup applesauce
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels

Recipe Directions for Pumpkin Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Prepare two 8"x4" loaf pans.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, white sugar, pumpkin puree, applesauce, baking soda, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon. Mix until all the flour is gone. Pour the batter into the prepared pans.

  3. Bake at 350F for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from oven and cover loaves tightly with foil. Allow to steam for 10 minutes. Remove foil and turn out onto cooling rack. Tent lightly with the foil and allow to cool completely.
