trying to make a bisque that tastes like one I bought at the health food store

Recipe Ingredients for Pumpkin bisque trial

1 onion, diced
1 cup carrots, diced
2 tsp fresh ginger, grated
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp sugar free brown sugar syrup
2 tsp wyler's sodium free instant chicken flavor
1/2 tsp thyme
12 oz Squash, Winter, Butternut
15 oz pumpkin
6 oz Light n fit vanilla yogurt
4 oz cranberries

Recipe Directions for Pumpkin bisque trial

  1. Microwave the cranberries until they make a mush. Stir them enough so you don't get local heating and a cranberry mess.

  2. ?In a small saucepan, saute the carrots, onions and ginger until tender. Gradually stir in broth. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.

  3. ? Stir in the pumpkin, cranberries, squash and seasonings. Return to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat; cool slightly.

  4. ?Stir in yogurt; heat throughly (do not boil). You can also opt to NOT add the yogurt and wait until serving to either add the yogurt or some unsweetened almond milk to the thick soup to make the desired thickness.
