This recipe can use Kamut flour, spelt flour or whole grain wheat flour; also, 1/2 cup of any protein powder will do.

Recipe Ingredients for Protein bar

1 1/4 cups kamut flour
65 g Brown Rice Protein
1 3/4 cups rolled oats
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp Sea Salt
1/2 cup maple syrup
3 tbl splenda
1 cup apple sauce
1/2 cup almond butter
1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
1 cup Chopped Walnuts
1 cup Carrots Shredded
1 cup raisins

Recipe Directions for Protein bar

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Combine the first six dry ingredients in a large bowl. Mix the next five ingredients in a separate bowl. Add the wet to the dry ingredients and mix well so no lumps of flour remain. Fold in the walnuts, carrots and raisins evenly.

  2. Oil a 9"x 12" baking dish. Scrape all the batter from the bowl into the dish and smooth the top. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until golden brown and a skewer comes out clean.

  3. Cool to room temperature for one hour before slicing into bars.

  4. You can wrap these individually and keep them in the freezer if necessary.
