This fast and easy spring time nibblie is a great addition to your afternoon patio party! You can prepare the day before and refrigerate and then arrange on a platter with some mixed nuts and serve with your favorite refreshing drink. Delicious!!

Recipe Ingredients for Prosciutto wrapped Asparagus Spears with Herbed Cream Cheese

12 spears asparagus
6 tablespoons Cream Cheese Whipped Garlic `N Herb
6 slices prosciutto or ham

Recipe Directions for Prosciutto wrapped Asparagus Spears with Herbed Cream Cheese

  1. Wash and trim the Fresh Ontario Asparagus spears.

  2. Submerge in boiling water for approx 3 minutes. Drain and then quickly place in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain and place on paper towel to absorb any remaining water.

  3. Lay Prosciutto or ham out on board and cut each peice lengthwise into two. Spread a 1/2 tablespoon of the herbed cream cheese onto ham and then place an asparagus spear at one end and begin to roll up around the asparagus to the end. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

  4. Asparagus is low in Saturated Fat, and very low in Cholesterol and Sodium. It is also a good source of Pantothenic Acid, Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc and Selenium, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Protein, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E (Alpha Tocopherol), Vitamin K, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Iron, Phosphorus, Potassium, Copper and Manganese.
