Recipes Smoothie recipes? Jun 19 2014
15:14 (UTC)

I have seen a lot of smoothie recipes with kale and spinach.  I am assuming you can't really tell they are in there?  Is that correct?  I can't picture having a fruit smoothie with those two ingredients...but you never know.

Recipes Poppy seed recipes?? Jun 19 2014

Poppy seeds will alter drug tests - so don't consume if you have a drug test in the near future.

My mom used to make poppy seed coffee cakes, lemon poppy seed bread or muffins - etc. but she only used them in baking.

I love the website and when you google poppy seed lots of options come up included vegan recipes, etc.

One word of caution.  If you have never had poppy seeds, and they have a distinctive taste - make a small batch of whatever you are going to try to make sure you like them and don't end up wasting a lot of money on preparing something you don't.  I LOVE them and want to try the salad dressing recipe soon.  Good luck.

Hot & Sour Soup

Cube tofu

slice fresh mushrooms

1 can of bamboo shoots, sliced thin strips

1 Tbsp beef bouillion

1 Tbsp crushed red peppers

1 stalk celery, sliced thin

1 carrot, sliced thin

salt & pepper to taste

splash of distilled vinegar to taste

1 egg

Put everything together, except egg and heat through.  Once boiling, drizzle egg into mixture, stirring constantly.  The great thing about this soup is that you can make it anyway you want and with any ingredients.  Sometimes I add thinly sliced bok choy, dried mushrooms, etc.

Congratulations on 20 days.  They say if you make it past 22 days - new habits are formed.  I am not so lucky....I am only on day 8.

At first all I wanted to do was sleep.  Now all I want to do is eat...especially sweets.

I also LOVE Progresso Gluten Free Soups.  I tried the Chicken Cheese Enchilada one over cubed skinless/boneless breasts and threw in some minute rice and baked for a wonderful casserole.

I felt that way too when I first started.  Although I am still struggling I am getting a lot better.  Soups are a great thing to make gluten free because they are warm when you eat them and usually fairly low in calories.  I do a lot with eggs for breakfast and also eat a lot of popcorn for snacks.  Rice cakes are also great.
