Recipe Ingredients for Pris's Dried Bean/Chicken Soup

275 grams Black Beans
220 grams Peas Black-Eyed
179 grams Onions
118 grams Carrots
445 grams Potatoes, White, Flesh And Skin
200 grams Corn, Sweet, White
411 grams Diced No Salt Added Tomatoes
5 cup Light
1 tsp Salt, Table
3 cup (8 fl oz) Water

Recipe Directions for Pris's Dried Bean/Chicken Soup

Soak the black beans and black-eyed peas overnight. Then drain and rinse. Combine the beans, peas, chicken broth, chopped chicken, chopped onion, sliced carrots, frozen corn, and canned tomatoes in a large pot. Add the extra water and season with one teaspoon salt and oregano and basil to taste. Cut up the peeled potatoes (about 4 small) and just cover with water. Boil until they are soft and then mash them before adding them to the soup mixture. Cook slowly until beans are tender.
