High fat but oh so tasty. Split one with a friend and a cup of tomato soup or Caesar Salad.

Recipe Ingredients for Powerhouse Grilled Cheese Sandwich

2 slices bread, sourdough
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp mayonaise
1 tsp olive oil
1/2 tbsp pesto
2 oz cheese, cheddar
2 oz cheese, monterey jack
2 oz cheese, mozzarella

Recipe Directions for Powerhouse Grilled Cheese Sandwich

  1. Heat skillet medium hot.

  2. Mix butter, mayo, olive oil in small bowl.

  3. Prepare 2 slices of good sourdough bread by spreading mixture on one side of each piece.

  4. Place one piece mixture side down on hot skillet.

  5. Layer with cheese.

  6. Place other piece of bread, mixture side up on top of cheese.

  7. Grill until side in contact with hot skillet is golden brown.

  8. Flip sandwich.

  9. Grill until remaining side is golden brown. Cheese will soften and melt during this time.

  10. Remove and sliced on the diagonal.

  11. Serve hot.
