Recipe Ingredients for Potatoes a la Boulangère

1 1/2 pounds potatoes
2 small onions
1/3 cup vegetable broth
1/3 cup milk
1 oz butter
1 pepper
1 salt

Recipe Directions for Potatoes a la Boulangère

  1. Peel and thinly slice potatoes. (Use a mandolin if you have one). Rinse the potato slices dab them dry.

  2. Thinly slice the onions.

  3. Layer onions and potatoes. End with a potato layer.

  4. Combine broth with milk.

  5. Pour the mixture over the potatoes and onions.

  6. Top with pieces of butter.

  7. Cover with aluminum foil.

  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 350F for 40 minutes.

  9. Take foil off, return to oven and cook uncovered for 30-40 minutes (depending on how crispy you prefer the top layer).
