Potato soup with added flavor from ham and cheese

Recipe Ingredients for Potatoe soup with ham and cheese

10 potatoes
2 tablespoons margarine
2 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cups 2% milk
1 cup chopped ham
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 can cheddar cheese soup

Recipe Directions for Potatoe soup with ham and cheese

  1. Peel potatoes, wash, cut into chunks (not equal size)

  2. Chop ham

  3. chop onion

  4. In a large pot combine the potatoes, ham and onion

  5. add enough water to cover--bring to a boil and boil until the potatoes are tender, but not mushy.

  6. Meanwhile, in a separate sause pan melt the butter, add the flour (all at once), then add the milk. Stir. Bring this mixture to a boil and set aside (stir occasionally).

  7. Scoop out about 1 cup of potatoes and mush them, add back to soup.

  8. Add the milk mixture to potato mixture

  9. Add one can of cheddar soup to the potatoe mixture (do not add additional milk or water)

  10. Mix this all up and simmer for about 10 minutes.

  11. Serve.
