Makes 4 servings



Savoury potato cakes made with white potatoes and sweet potatoes. If you don't have sweet potatoes you can use parsnips or turnips or just all white potatoes.

Recipe Ingredients for Potato & sweet potato cakes

300 g potatoes, mashed
150 g sweet potatoes, mashed
2 tbsp milk
1 clove garlic
1 pinch herbs, mixed
1 egg, beaten
5 tbsp flour
1 black pepper
2 tbsp olive oil

Recipe Directions for Potato & sweet potato cakes

  1. Boil all the potatoes.

  2. Once cooked, drain and mash.

  3. Add milk.

  4. Finely chop garlic and add along with the herbs and any other seasoning you want.

  5. Scoop out a chunk of the mixture and form into a fat burger shape.

  6. Dip both sides in the beaten egg.

  7. Dip both sides in the flour.

  8. Fry until golden on both sides.
