Recipe Ingredients for Potato Cheddar Soup

2 cups Water
2 Potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 tablespoon Butter
1 small Onion, chopped
3 tablespoons Flour
1 Salt
1 Pepper
3 cups Milk
1/2 teaspoon Sugar
1 cup Cheddar Cheese, Shredded

Recipe Directions for Potato Cheddar Soup

  1. Using a medium sized stock pot, bring water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook until tender. Drain, reserving 1 cup liquid.

  2. Stir in butter, onion and flour.

  3. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. Gradually srit in potatoes, reserved liquid, milk, sugar and cheese.

  5. Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring frequently.
