Recipe Ingredients for Pot roast with potatoes

3 1/2 pounds beef round steaks
1/2 pound carrots
2 large onions, quartered
6 large potatoes, sliced
8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
1 1/2 pounds sweet potatoes, sliced
6 cloves garlic
2 beef bouillon cubes
4 cups water
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp parsley flakes

Recipe Directions for Pot roast with potatoes

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

  2. Season roast with salt, pepper, allspice and parsley. slit holes in roast and stuff garlci cubes into holes. Place roast in large roasting pan with water, beef bouillon, cream of mushroom soup and onions.

  3. Bake for 1.5 hours.

  4. Add potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots and mushrooms. Bake an additional hour.
