Recipe Ingredients for Portuguese Potato & Kale Soup

1 potato
2 cup kale
1/4 cup carrots
1 small onion
2 tsp chopped garlic
6 cup water
3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp sesame oil
2 tbsp hot pepper flakes
2 tbsp tamari

Recipe Directions for Portuguese Potato & Kale Soup

  1. saute garlic, oil, onion, hot pepper flakes

  2. add water

  3. bring to a boil

  4. add potatoes (diced, small) with skin on or off

  5. turn heat down and simmer until potatoes are soft

  6. mash potatoes slightly with a fork

  7. add sesame oil (I used hot pepper sesame oil) for flavor

  8. add tamari

  9. add other seasonings to taste (up to your discretion) & salt if desired

  10. add kale

  11. simmer until kale is soft
