Recipe Ingredients for Pork Tenderloin with apples

16 oz Pork, Fresh, Loin, Tenderloin
1 tsp Cumin
1 clove Garlic
1 tbsp Canola Oil
4 oz chicken broth
4 oz sake
1 oz Pink Lady Apples

Recipe Directions for Pork Tenderloin with apples

  1. Preheat oven to 400° F.

  2. Sliver the garlic and slice the apple into 8 pieces.

  3. With the tip of a sharp knife, make deep little slits all over the tenderloin and insert the garlic slivers. Season with salt, pepper and cumin.

  4. Heat the oil in a skillet on medium high heat and sear the tenderloin well on all sides (about 10 minutes).

  5. Remove the tenderloin from the skillet (do not discard the juices in the skillet) and place in a roasting pan. Add the broth and white wine to the roasting pan.

  6. Cook in the oven at 400°F for 10 minutes.

  7. After you've placed the tenderloin in the oven, cook the apple slices in the same skillet (with the remaining oil and juices) that you used to brown the tenderloin.

  8. Sauté until soft.

  9. Remove the apples from the pan, set them aside, saving the juices once again in the pan.

  10. After the tenderloin has cooked in the oven for 10 minutes remove from the oven.

  11. Remove the tenderloin from the pan to a cutting board, cover with aluminum foil and let rest for 10 minutes. The tenderloin will continue to cook while it sits.

  12. While the pork is resting, pour the roasting pan juices into the skillet and boil everything on high heat for 5 minutes, reducing until thickened slightly.

  13. Slice the tenderloins into 1/4 inch thick slices, add the sliced apples to the meat in the serving dish, drizzle juices over and serve immediately.

  14. Note: Use only a good cooking apple like pink lady, Fuji, or Jonagold (not red delicious) for best results.
