Recipe Ingredients for Pork and Sauerkraut

2 tbsp lard
3.36 lb pork chops, rinsed and patted dry
14 oz turkey sausage, cut
16 oz kielbasa, cut
4 lb sauerkraut, rinsed
2 cups water

Recipe Directions for Pork and Sauerkraut

  1. Toss bacon fat (fat cut from a package of bacon) and excess fat cut from pork chops into pot.

  2. Brown pork chops in melted fat. Remove from pot.

  3. Brown sausage pieces in pot. Remove.

  4. Put rinsed sauerkraut in pot and stir around.

  5. Add pork chops and sausage back in.

  6. Pour in water; stir.

  7. Simmer covered over low heat for 2 hours or until cooked through.
