Pork pairs so well with fruit. I've also made something similar substituting pears, peaches and even raisins for the apples. The key to a delicious pork chop is to sear it at high heat on each side to seal in the juices, then slow cook until done.

Recipe Ingredients for Pork Chops with Homemade Applesauce

12 ounce pork chops
1 dash salt
1 dash pepper
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp margarine
1 dash cinnamon
1 dash nutmeg
2 apples, sliced

Recipe Directions for Pork Chops with Homemade Applesauce

  1. Pre-heat oven to 375

  2. In a saucepan, melt together butter and brown sugar. Add apples and spices, reduce heat until apples are softened.

  3. Rub meat with salt and pepper to taste. Pre-heat a frying pan and pan-sear each side of the chops to seal in juices, approx. 30 seconds per side.

  4. In an oven-safe pan, add pork chops and applesauce mixture. Bake at 375 until cooked through.
