Pork with Five Spices from "The Complete Book of Thai Cooking"

Recipe Ingredients for Pork with 5 Spices

2 chop, excluding refuse (yield from 1 raw chop, with refuse, weig Pork, Fresh, Loin, Center Loin (Chops), Bone-in
2 tbsp Vegetable Oil, Canola
0.6 tbsp Green Curry Paste
2 clove Garlic
0.75 tsp Five Spice Powder
0.75 cup Chicken Stock
2 tbsp Fish Sauce
2 tbsp Soy Sauce

Recipe Directions for Pork with 5 Spices

  1. Blanch the pork in boiling water for 5 mins. Rinse with cold water, drain and pat dry.

  2. Heat oil, garlic and curry over medium heat for 1 min.

  3. Add pork and fry for 3-4 mins.

  4. Add 5-spice, stock, sauces, and sugar.

  5. Cover, reduce heat to med-low and simmer for 30 mins.

  6. Uncover, bring to a boil until sauce is reduced (stir often).

  7. Add lime juice. Garnish with cilantro.
