Very good, but need to aquire taste for it

Recipe Ingredients for Poppy Seed Roll Dough & Paste (filling)

2 cups milk
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup butter
1 tbsp. yeast
1/4 cup warm water
2 tsp. sugar
9 cups flour
1 egg
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups Poppy Seeds, ground fine
2 cups sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
3 tbsp. corn syrup
2 tbsp. flour
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Recipe Directions for Poppy Seed Roll Dough & Paste (filling)

  1. Mix dough and kneed. Let rise till double in size and punch down.

  2. Let rise again and it is ready to roll out.

  3. Makes 7 rolls (3x14 inches)

  4. Paste: Measure 2 cups poppy seed and then grind.

  5. Add sugar, salt, cream, corn syrup and flour.

  6. Cook in microwave until it comes to a boil.

  7. Boil very little.

  8. Let cool and add beaten eggs and vanilla

  9. Roll dough to about 1/4" thick. Spread paste on roll and roll like a cinnamon roll.

  10. Place on greased cookie sheet. 3 to a sheet

  11. Let dough rise only a short while after rolling together.

  12. Perferably only long enough until all rolls are made.

  13. Bake @ 350* for 30 minutes.

  14. Each roll = 1376 calories or 49 per 1/2" slice
