Recipe Ingredients for Polenta

16 tablespoons Yellow Corn Meal
3 cup (8 fl oz) Water
0.5 tsp Salt, Table
1.5 tbsp Butter

Recipe Directions for Polenta

  1. To prevent lumping, first mix cornmeal with 1/2 or 1 C of the water in a large bowl or covered jar. Boil rest of water with salt, and gradually whisk in cornmeal mixture. Simmer for 30 minutes, or until mixture is very thick. Stir in butter.

  2. Spoon into a buttered pan and let sit 10 minutes, then invert onto a plate. Cut into thick slices, and top with grated cheese and tomato sauce.
