Recipe Ingredients for Plain sponge cake

4 oz flour
3 oz sugar
4 oz butter
3 eggs
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
2 tbsp milk

Recipe Directions for Plain sponge cake

  1. heat oven to 180 degrees celsius

  2. beat together sugar and butter until pale and creamy

  3. add all other ingredients and beat together

  4. place in greased/lined tray

  5. place in oven for 25 mins or until springy and golden coloured
