Recipe Ingredients for Plain scones (no egg)

2 cups flour
3 tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
4 tablespoons cold butter
3/4 cup milk

Recipe Directions for Plain scones (no egg)

  1. Preheat oven to 425.

  2. mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together.

  3. cut the cold butter into the dry ingredients using a pastry blender or a fork.

  4. add the milk slowly. Knead a bit but do not over-mix.

  5. Shape into 1 large disc and cut into 8 triangles (OR shape into 8 discs)

  6. Place on a baking sheet.

  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
