Vanilla Plain Sauce to use as topping for Sugar Free Old Fashioned Bread Pudding

Recipe Ingredients for Plain Sauce, Vanilla

4 cups water
1 cup sugar
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 tablespoons cornstarch

Recipe Directions for Plain Sauce, Vanilla

Mix sugar and cornstarch in saucepan. Add water. Bring to boil and boil for five minutes, stirring continuously. Remove from heat. Add butter and vanilla (lemon or another flavor can be used instead of vanilla).
