This recipe is really 1/2 of our regular cornbread recipe. The only ingredient not halved was the egg.

Recipe Ingredients for Plain Cornbread

0.5 cup Wheat Flour, White, All-purpose, Enriched, Unbleached
0.5 cup dry Gluten Free Cornmeal
1.5 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1 large Egg, Whole
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil, Canola
1 tbsp Honey, Strained Or Extracted
0.25 cup Milk, Reduced Fat, Fluid, 2% Milkfat
0.25 cup (8 fl oz) Water

Recipe Directions for Plain Cornbread

  1. Combine all dry ingredients

  2. Add in all wet ingredients

  3. Stir until just mixed

  4. Pour into 8x8 square pan which has been lightly sprayed with spray oil

  5. Bake at 400 about 15-20 minutes

  6. Serve warm or cold
