Homemade Pizza Dough - Serving Size is 1 piece, it was easier to do this way. (each pizza will be cut into 8 pieces)

Recipe Ingredients for Pizza Dough Xtra Thin

1 package Active Dry Yeast
1 cup Water (110-115 degrees)
1/4 tsp. Sugar
2 1/2 cups Bread Flour (can use All-purpose)
2 tbsp. Corn Meal
1/4 tsp. Salt
2 tbsp. Olive Oil

Recipe Directions for Pizza Dough Xtra Thin

  1. Mix sugar into 1 cup of warm water (110 - 115 degrees). Let sit for 10 minutes, until foamy. (about 1/4 of foam should be formed on top).

  2. Pour activated yeast into a large bowl. Add 1 1/2 cups of flour, 2 Tbsp corn meal, 1/4 tsp salt & olive oil. Mix until smooth (wooden spoon works well). Add more flour if necessary until dough is smooth, and not too sticky. (It should be a "little" sticky at this point.) Put some of the remaining flour on a large wooden cutting board (and your hands!) and transfer the dough to it. Knead the dough for 5 - 8 minutes or so, adding flour as needed, until moderately stiff, smooth & elastic. (Be careful NOT to over knead). Put dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel and let rise in a warm place undisturbed for 1 hour, until double in size. (In the colder months I put some warm water in my sink, and put the bowl in the water to keep it warm)

  3. After an hour, grease hands, divided dough in 1/2. You can freeze 1/2 in a greased ziplock bag if you arent making 2 pizzas.

  4. Grease your pizza pan and sprinkle with corn meal. Put ball of dough in middle of pan and work your way out to the edge. (Make sure you grease your hands!)It may look to thin but it isn't, spread it really thin! You can almost see through it it's so thin. But cooks up really nice.

  5. Top with your favorite sauce, toppings, and cheese!
