Makes 8 servings



Whole wheat pizza dough for homemade pizzas or stromboli's.

Recipe Ingredients for Pizza Dough

1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour
2 tsp olive oil
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 1/3 cup water
2 1/4 tsp yeast

Recipe Directions for Pizza Dough

  1. Combine water and yeast in mixer, let stand several minutes until yeast is disolved.

  2. Add all other ingredients, mix on low speed until dough is smooth and elastic.

  3. Proof for 1 hour or 1.5 hours, until doubled in volume.

  4. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Form pizzas with desired toppings, or fill and close for stromboli's.

  5. Bake until cheese is golden brown, 10-12 minutes for pizza. Longer for stromboli.

  6. Brush crust lightly with olive oil or butter when removed.
